When you mention garlic you get one of two reactions, EWWWW, Or MMMmm. In the case of garlic you will always get a heaving , over exaggerated applause from me!!!
See, we have been taught that garlic is a herb added to foods just for flavor, mostly Italian foods.
Garlic is more than a flavor enhancing herb that causes one to run to the bathroom, toothbrush in hand, all the while avoiding any human verbal contact, No my friend Garlic is much MUCH more.
Garlic is a medicinal POWER HOUSE. A while back I was hanging out in my living room on a cold day relaxing watching some movies. I decided, in full cliche' , that adding some sweet snack to the moment may enhance my home movie experience. I went straight for these bakery purchased apple cinnamon delightful cookies, These were the type of cookies that awaken your inner cookie monster, AND YES, I tore some up.
Moments later a pain struck in my upper, left back tooth. I can compare the pain to labor pains in my ACTUAL TOOTH/GUMS. I suppose a mixture of the cookies and the cold REEEEEEAAALLLY irritated the seemingly dormant infection that was there.
I was in so much pain that I was desperate!! Now at this time I already had knowledge of herbal healing but I wasn't quite sure if there was anything in herbal form that would suffice per this ailment.
I remembered that Garlic was antiviral, antibacterial etc etc. So I Googled "Garlic for tooth infection/cavity". TOOONS of links popped up. I was in so much pain that I kind of skimmed thru the info I had Googled quickly without getting a proper idea of how to apply the garlic properly to aide my toothache..
I went strait to my Herb cupboard, grabbed the garlic and applied it directly to my problem spot... Bad IDEA, buut Good Idea, Let me explain . When I applied it to the cavity it felt as if someone applied acid directly to my gums !!!!!!!... I ran and grabbed Turmeric powder(knowing that it is ant-inflammatory) and put it directly on top the spot after I moved the garlic out of the way and the pain stopped immediately. I mean All of the pain ceased. I did this same procedure for 3 days about twice daily and my cavity completely diminished.
No pain , No gain? Not necessarily. I actually came up with a cavity medicine thereafter which was much less sinister:
Here's what you'll need:
1. 1 Garlic clove.
2. 1/2 table spoon of cloves. (Numbing agent and antiseptic)
3. 3 table spoons of Extra Virgin Coconut oil or Olive oil.
4. 1 Table spoon of Turmeric powder(anti inflammatory, antiseptic, anti viral, anti Bacterial)
Crush all ingredients together let steep for 1 hour or use immediately. I have used this on my six year old daughter and IT WORK's.
Enjoy Garlic ..... xo Melanie Luna.
